Natalie & Paul’s Intimate Wedding
As a studio, we shoot around 15 weddings a year. We love shooting wedding photography in Palo Alto because it is a short drive and there are a lot of beautiful venues. Natalie and Paul’s an intimate wedding at a beautiful residence in Palo Alto. It was a small and intimate setting and it was exactly what they wanted out of their wedding day.
Making the Day Into Your Own
When planning a wedding, I think one of the most important things is to plan the type of wedding that YOU want to have. This is exactly what Natalie and Paul did – and it turned out beautiful! I collaborate with each Bride and Groom to make sure that we are capturing what is important to them – not what is important to someone else. I have ideas on poses and different ways to capture creative images – but I keep an open mind going into each wedding.
The majority of the images I look to capture are candid photos of your day – as it unfolds naturally. I like to be unobtrusive and in the background, but there are also moments that are posed.
One of the trends, that I see at almost all of the weddings I shoot, is having a friend or family member officiate the ceremony. It adds a special touch to the wedding and it allows for them to speak from a unique perspective. Natalie’s long time family friend officiated their wedding. She spoke about some of the things N + P had in common and how they came to fall in love 🙂
A Dog Named Pepe and an All Male A Capella Band
Once the I Do’s were said, and they sealed the ceremony with a kiss, the fun really started 🙂 There were a few heartfelt toasts, and Natalie’s mom surprised everyone with Stanford University’s a Capella band . The band was definitely the most entertaining part of the evening and they did an excellent job!
Surf’s Up!!!
Natalie and Paul’s night finished up with a little cake – which was personalized to incorporate their love of surfing.
