Kathleen + Rocky’s Mexico Destination Wedding
Full disclosure: I do not YET consider myself a “destination wedding Photographer!” Maybe with one more destination wedding under my belt – I can 🙂 I’ve actually only been out of the country twice. Once to Montreal, Canada; and the second time was for Kathleen and Rocky’s Mexico destination wedding. I will say, that I can DEFINITELY get used to it though! If you pay for the flight and the hotel, we can work out the rest 😉
Short and Sweet Because of the Heat!
Lucky for everyone, Kathleen and Rocky’s wedding ceremony was short and sweet! That’s because it was about 90 degrees with an insane amount of humidity – no shade. Despite these factors, the beach at the RIU Palace had an incredible view and the ceremony was PERFECT 🙂
In some of the images, you may actually notice ME in them! This usually is not out of the question – because I shoot almost all of my weddings with another Photographer. Since it was a destination wedding and I was traveling with one less Photographer, I had two cameras being triggered remotely. Pretty cool, huh?! I do this for a lot of the weddings that I shoot 🙂 One camera is placed REALLY high – for kind of a birds eye view. And another camera is placed either straight down the aisle or off to the side.
Now Lets Go Inside Where it is Cooler – Kinda
After a few quick sets of family portraits, we decided to head inside – where we assumed it would be MUCH cooler. It turns out that the air conditioning was not kicked on and it was hard to tell if it was warmer inside or outside! Several people, including myself, quickly went back to their rooms to change clothes, regroup, and get ready for more fun. The atmosphere was very laid back and everyone had a good time.
Like I said, I cannot officially call myself a “Destination Photographer,” until I get another one under my belt. If you are getting married ANYWHERE in the US or abroad, I’d love to meet you and learn more about your wedding. The best way to reach me is right on my website’s contact form. Thanks!
