Wedding Proposal at Vasona Park

Ali & Ryan’s Maternity/Wedding Proposal – Vasona Park

It’s very hard for me to keep a secret. Very hard! So when Ryan contacted me and wanted to take maternity portraits, and add in a wedding proposal at the end, I was a little nervous. And excited. One of my suggestions was to have the session at Vasona Park in Los Gatos. It is BEAUTIFUL in the evening and you can get some really fun and dynamic shots of the sun shooting through the trees. It has a lot of open space, green grass, picnic benches, miniature train tracks, water, and even a bridge. What more could you ask for out of a location?!

The Plan

Our plan was to take a few maternity portraits and then put Ali in a pose where she is posing in front and Ryan was in the background. He was going to come up to her, as she was posing and then surprise her with the wedding proposal. Right when I put them in the pose, Ryan whispered to me that he changed his mind and was planning for it at the end of the session. So we went with this.

Perfect Timing

The one thing about having a baby is that the baby just sits right on top of your bladder. That’s what I hear at least 🙂 And so towards the end of the session, Ali needed to quickly use the restroom. This gave us a few minutes to plan the wedding proposal! We decided to have Ryan do a VERY common pose where he gets on one knee and kisses the baby bump. After he did this, he would pull the ring out of his back pocket and go for it!

The proposal worked out perfectly, Ali had no idea, and we captured some really fun moments of the entire thing! If your planning a proposal, a wedding, or anything beautiful that you’d like photographed, I’d love to hear from you! The best way to reach me is right through the contact form of my website. Thanks!
