Getting Children To Have Fun For Family Portraits
If you have children, you know how difficult it can be to get them to cooperate with ANYTHING at any given time! The trick with kids is to just let them be themselves 🙂 The bottom line is that if they are having fun, the pictures will come out great and will showcase their personalities. Here are my favorite tips that I use, when working with kids for fun family portraits 🙂
Ready-Set-GO!!!
Most kids LOVE to run. If this is the case, we want to capture them running, jumping and just having fun. They can chase after mom-and-dad, or they can run into your arms for a giant bear hug!
Tickle Time
One of the easiest ways to get kids to have fun for family portraits is to tickle the smiles out of them 🙂 We will take turns having you tickling them, and then we will let them tickle you.
Fly Like A Bird
Another sure fire way to get children having fun is to toss them up in the air. The only problem with this – is that they may not want you to stop! After a few tosses, mom or dads arms may get a little tired and so we will be sure to move on to other fun ideas to keep them engaged 🙂
Story Time
Last but not least, another great way to capture some fun moments with children is to sit and read books. Bring a couple of their favorite books, and we can have mom-and-dad take turns reading their favorite story.
You’ll be more familiar with what your child enjoys doing – so I am always open to fun ways to bring out the best in your child. As your Photographer, I want you to remember this moment in time through the fun images that we capture of you and your family. Hopefully these give you a few ideas on how to take fun family portraits.
If you are looking to schedule your next family portrait session, I’d LOVE to meet you and your family. The best way to reach out to me is through the contact form on my website. Thanks!
