I had a really fun time taking maternity portraits at the Rose Garden with Lizbeth and Leo! They both looked great, were really easy to work with and the Rose Garden was a really beautiful location for the session. The roses and different colors worked really well with their outfits; and we came away with a lot of really great images 🙂

A Reminder of Why I Chose to be a Photographer

Being a full-time Photographer, running my own business can be VERY difficult at times. It’s a lot more work that most people would realize… my session with Lizbeth and Leo was refreshing and reinforced why I LOVE being a Photographer. I love the connections I make with my couples and clients. I get to share in some of the most beautiful moments. And the positive vibes I get from the people I get to photograph are really inspiring.

I had previously met with Lizbeth and Leo when they were planning their wedding. We had met at a coffee shop and we discussed their wedding – and at that time, I was still “new” to wedding photography. Ultimately, they booked another Photographer. Leo sent me an email and explained that they loved meeting with me but chose to go with another studio. I remember him saying that he would keep me in mind for other sessions. I have to be honest, I took it personal that they booked another Photographer. In the back of my mind I kind of wrote them off.

I did not even put two-and-two together and never made the connection between the wedding meeting that I had previously had and the couple I was going to be working with. When I met them at the beginning of the session, I finally made that connection. And I was surprised – pleasantly, that they had come back and scheduled a session. Throughout the session, we discussed their pregnancy, how they were nervous and excited to be having a baby girl; and I felt a really strong connection with them. I’ll always remember this session and plan on printing one of the images from their session and putting it up in my office.
