Maternity Photo Shoot At Hellyer Park | Monica & Paul
There are few things more special than a woman going through the maternity process. The excitement and anticipation of the baby arriving is such an incredible moment. I had a really fun time with Monica & Paul and here are some of the images we captured of their maternity photo shoot at Hellyer Park in South San Jose.
Images That Feel Natural and Unposed
I believe that the best images are those that feel natural and unposed. Throughout the session, I will encourage natural interactions between you and your partner. There are several ways to accomplish this and one of them is by taking a walk through the park. This is as natural as it gets and it is a sure fire way to get great smiles and natural reactions.
No one likes a camera shoved in their face and so I prefer to give you space to interact with each other. A little kiss on the cheek, a glance down at the baby bump, a quick glance at each other is all it takes 🙂
One or Two Props to Personalize The Session
A couple of simple props are a great way to make the session your own. The two most common props for maternity portraits are a pair of baby shoes and/or a framed sonogram. There are a bunch of things that we can do with these props – and I am always open to suggestions on how to use them. With the sonogram, I like to get a few images of you holding the sonogram and some images where the sonogram is in focus and everyone else is in the background.
Getting Little Ones Involved
Last but not least, it is important to capture a few images of the big brother(s) and sister(s). These are some of the most adorable pictures of the whole session.
