Maternity Portraits in Saratoga | Amrutha
Sanborn County Park is a really great location for “foresty” images. I had not been there in a while and almost forgot how beautiful it really is. The tall trees and the quietness of the park really make for nice images. Here are some of the fun and candid maternity portraits in Saratoga of Amrutha. And my thoughts on what makes a good portrait location.
What Makes A Good Portrait Location?
A Location With Shade: There are many things to consider when selecting a location for a portrait session. Almost any location will photograph nicely in the early mornings or right before the sun sets. This is because the lighting at these times is generally pretty even. Meaning that there is not a lot of contrast in the sunny and shaded areas. Believe it or not, photos that are in the bright sun are not the most flattering 🙂 So shade is your best friend. Since there is a lot of shade at Sanborn County Park, it makes for a really great location for portraits – at any time of the day.
Different Backgrounds: Another thing that makes a good location for portraits is the variety of backgrounds. Some places have just one or two great backgrounds for portraits. A good location will have multiple places where you can move around and get a variety of backgrounds. Sanborn County Park has a ton of trees, a pond, cobbled stones, grass, a bridge, stairs, etc. Having all of these different places that you can take pictures makes the session really nice. We can move around and make good use of the 30 or 60 minutes that the session will last.
No Photo Permit Required: One of the often overlooked things about certain locations is whether or not it requires a photo permit to take pictures there. A lot of really great locations require you to purchase a photography permit – up to 2 weeks before the session date. Most photographers know of these locations and will recommend places that do not require a permit to be purchased.
