Engagement portraits are great for many reasons. For one, you get the opportunity to work with your wedding photographer before your special day. As a Photographer, I love getting to know my wedding clients as much as possible before their wedding day. Take A Break From Wedding Planning
One of the main benefits of scheduling engagement portraits is that it gives you a break from wedding planning. Planning a wedding can be a really stressful time. Taking a step away from all of this can be really refreshing. A really great idea is to make sure to plan something fun to do after your session. Since most of my engagement sessions are scheduled in the evening (the best time for outdoor portraits), planning a nice dinner date or dessert would be perfect. You’re already all dressed up and so you might as well keep the fun going!
You Can Use Your Images For Invitations and at Your Wedding
Another really great reason to schedule engagement portraits is that you can use the images for many different purposes. Your wedding website. Save the dates. Pictures to decorate your wedding venue. Pretty much anything 🙂 If you plan on using the images for something specific, make sure to let your Photographer know – so that they can deliver your images in more than enough time. For example, save the dates are typically sent out 6 months in advance of your wedding date. If you are behind on sending these out, and need them right away, make sure your Photographer knows this.
