CJ’s First Birthday Studio Portraits

If you have children, you can probably attest that the first year of a child’s life goes by so fast! I have only had one set of parents ever say otherwise 🙂 Before you know it, your child is walking, talking and you wonder to yourself, “where did my baby go?!” With time going by so fast, it is SUPER important to take pictures to document this time. Here are some of CJ’s first birthday studio portraits; and three reasons to take one year portraits in a studio.

There Are Less Distractions In A Studio

One of the major benefits to having a portrait session in the studio is that there are far less distractions. Having a session at a park is great – but sometimes it can be difficult to keep your child’s attention. In the studio, we can play fun kid music and there are less distractions to contend with 🙂

Props Are Easier To Use

One of the things that make one year portrait session what they are is the props. Scheduling your session in the studio will enable you to use all of your props without a hitch. For example, taking pictures of balloons inside of a studio is MUCH easier than taking them outdoors. It is always windy and you can never get the balloons to stay in the position that you want them to be in. Carrying around all of the various props can be a hassle as well!

Weather Is Not A Factor

Last but not least, scheduling a session in the studio is great when the weather is not cooperating. In the winter months, the weather can be hit or miss; and scheduling the session indoors makes one less thing to worry about. Depending on your child, scheduling the session outdoors – when it is cold – can cause them to be a little grumpy. Having them warm and in a good mood helps get better images 🙂

If you have a child that will be turning one soon, I would love to schedule a portrait session with you. The best way to reach out to me is through the contact form on my website. Thanks!
