Do Something That You LOVE Doing As A Family

Perhaps the thing that I like the most about lifestyle newborn portraits is that it captures fun moments that you enjoy doing as a family. This can take many different forms – but it is something special and unique to each family. If Mom or Dad like playing instruments, for example – the guitar, this is an example of a fun moment that we can capture of the family. Most people like photographing activities like reading books, playing with toys and just candid moments of the family holding the new baby. Whatever you enjoy doing as a family is a great moment to capture.

Include Your Other Children – But Keep It Fun

I think nearly every parent that has other children, want to also include them into the session. It’s cute; and I am sure it is something that you’ll want to share with them when they are older. Possible blackmail for sure 🙂 One of the tips I would give is to make sure to keep it fun. You may have seen an idea that looked great – on your social media news feed, Pinterest, etc. – but try not to fall in love with some of these ideas. There are times where these types of ideas work out perfectly (Gabby’s older sister did an excellent job) – but there are also a lot of times where they do not. You don’t want to get frustrated and try to force certain poses or ideas on a 3 year old. It usually does not work out well!
