Maternity Pictures at Vasona Park | Anna & Henry

Over the last year or so, I have really grown to love taking pictures at Vasona Park in Los Gatos. Here are some of the maternity pictures at Vasona Park of Anna & Henry and three reasons why Vasona Park is a great location for portraits.

1. You Can Shoot at Vasona at Anytime of The Day

One of the most important aspects of photography is LIGHT. The amount of it, the quality of it, the direction of it, etc. The great aspect about shooting portraits at Vasona Park is that you can shoot here at any time of the day. In order to be able to say this, there needs to be many areas where there is open shade. While direct sunlight creates harsh and unflattering light, shade creates soft and flattering light – which is great for portraits.

2. There Are Plenty of Backgrounds

Another great aspect of shooting portraits at Vasona Park is that there are many, many different backgrounds for portraits. It has grass areas, streams and lakes, a large bridge, train tracks, downed trees, large rocks/bolders, and even a miniature train track. With all of these different backgrounds, your portrait session can have a variety of different backgrounds. Many locations just have a few good places for portraits. This is not the case with Vasona Park.

3. Vasona Has Many Amenities

Another great reason why Vasona Park is a great location is because it has a bunch of amenities. Since it is such a large park, there is plenty of parking – so finding a parking spot is never really an issue. Vasona also feature many restrooms throughout the park. This is great if you are taking maternity portraits and plan on changing outfits part way through the session. It is also convenient if you just need to use the restroom 🙂 Along with plenty of parking and restrooms, Vasona also has a couple of playgrounds, a miniature train and a carousel. If you have children, there things can be used as incentives for good cooperation during the session. Letting them know that they can play on the playground or go on the train, after the session, incentives good behavior 🙂 At certain times, they even have a snack bar with drinks, hotdogs, ice cream, etc.

If you are interested in taking portraits, I would love to connect with you. The best way to reach out to me is through the contact form on my website. Thanks!
