Maternity Portraits at Stanford University

Maternity Portraits at Stanford University | Concepcion & James

The great thing about living in the Bay Area is that there are so many great places to take portraits. One of my go-to locations for portraits is Stanford University. Here are some of the maternity portraits at Stanford University of Concepcion & James. And three reasons that Stanford University is a great location for portraits.

Maternity Portraits at Stanford University

1. No Permit is Required

One of the most important things to consider when choosing a location for your portrait session is whether or not you are allowed to do so! MANY venues simply do not allow you to take portraits there – or you need to purchase a permit in order to do so. Like many Photographers, I have learned this the hard way (getting asked to leave). Many Universities will not allow you to take professional portraits on campus. For example, Santa Clara University. The great thing about Stanford is that they allow professional portraits without having to obtain a permit.

2. Rain Is Not A Problem

As a Photographer, keeping an eye on the weather on days that you have sessions scheduled can be a little nerve racking. Having to reschedule a bunch of sessions because it is raining is no fun. The great thing about Stanford is that it has covered hallways where we can take pictures – even when it is raining. If at some point during the session the weather clears up, we can get images in the open areas on campus 🙂

3. Stanford Has Incredible Architecture!

Last but not least, Stanford University has some of the most unique architecture in the Bay Area or even the country! The golden stones of the university’s hallways and classroom areas are just gorgeous. There are plenty of areas where door frames can frame couples in a really nice way. The look and feel of images taken here are really unique to only Stanford University.
