Three Tips On Photographing Fun Wedding Bridal Party Photos

Some of the funnest moments of your special day are the moments that you get to spend with your bridal party. Having your closest friends celebrate with you is fun in and of itself, but here are my top three tips on photographing fun wedding bridal party photos!

1. Asking Funny Questions About The Bride & Groom

One of the easiest ways to capture really fun images of your bridal party is to have each of them answer funny questions about the Bride & Groom! Pretty much any question will work – but here are three that I like to ask:

• Give A Word That Describes The Bride/Groom: Sometimes this puts the people in the bridal party on the spot – but most times you get to hear some really funny responses from the members in your bridal party! I’ve heard just about EVERYTHING from asking this simple question and it enables me to capture really fun and candid images 🙂
• Who Is Going To Be The Drunkest At The End of The Night/ Who Will Be on The Dance Floor The Most?: I like to ask these questions and then have each of the members of the bridal party either point at or look at the person they are thinking of. This also gets really great, candid expressions!
• Who Looks The Prettiest/Most Handsome Today?: This question is a really good way to get the entire wedding party looking right at the Bride/Groom. Sometimes there will be one or two people who look at another person in the wedding party as a joke and this will also get a really funny expression.

2. Kissing Photos

Getting some “kissy face” photos is always a really fun way to capture great expressions of you and your wedding party! Typically, I will have my couples stand a little ways in front of the rest of the bridal party. I’ll then have them kiss and have the bridal party react to the kiss. With either a funny face, closing their eyes, or even kissing someone else in the bridal party themselves!

3. Walking And Looking Cool

Last but not least, getting some “cool” photos is always fun. If all of the guys have sunglasses, this is a good time to use them for photos! Just telling the guys to “walk and look cool,” will be enough to get everyone having fun!
