The Advantage of Having A White Background

If I am working with a company who plans on taking more than one headshot, I always recommend shooting their headshots on a white background. Headshots on a white background are easily repeateable – so that all of the future headshots all look the same. Plus white is a really classic look for portraits… one thing to keep in mind for shooting headshots on a white background is that the person needs to be wearing a darker suit coat or shirt – so that they do not blend into the background 😉

Ask About Different Backgrounds

One thing to keep in mind is that the background can be changed. Most Photographers can provide these types of edits for an additional charge. One really great example of how you can use different headshots are if you plan on using the images for different marketing purposes. Say you’d like to have the headshots on your company’s website have an all white background – but have a different background in marketing material that is sent out.
