3 Tips On Taking Maternity Photos With Kids
Chances are, you may have had maternity portraits for your first child – but may not be considering them for your second 🙂 I only have one child but I can see the rationale behind this! Kids are a lot of work. Especially if you are trying to focus on something really important. Here are three tips on taking maternity photos with kids that are stress free.
Build Up The Excitement Before The Session
Perhaps the most important thing you can do is to build up excitement for the session. I recommend doing this at least a few days before the session is scheduled. Chances are, if you are excited they will also be excited for the session. You can let them know that you will be going to the park to have fun and take pictures.
Let Them Pick A Pose And Practice It Before The Session
Another really great way to get participation from your child is to let them pick a pose. By including them in the process, they will be more likely to cooperate on the day of the session. The pose can be a simple one where they kiss your baby bump. Make sure to practice the pose a few days before the session so that they are familiar.
Plan Something Fun After The Session
Last but not least, planning something fun after the session is a sure fire way to get your child to cooperate. It can be going to their favorite restaurant or maybe even ice cream. If your child gets a little fussy during the session, you can use this as a bargaining chip 🙂 Another option is giving them a prize at the end of the session. Your child may not be 100% excited to have a stranger take their picture so planning something they will look forward to is a good idea.
