Event Photography in Morgan Hill | Luna’s Baptism at St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church
Your child’s baptism is one of the most important events you can have photographed. Luna’s baptism was the first time that I had the opportunity to photograph an event at St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church. It is a great place for event photography in Morgan Hill – especially a baptism 🙂 Here are some of the candid images we captured of Luna’s baptism. As well as a couple of tips for hiring an event Photographer for a baptism.
Make Sure Photography Is Allowed
One of the VERY first things you will want to make sure of is if photography is allowed. Some catholic churches do not allow any photography. Others have restrictions. For example, you may only be able to photograph the baptism from the back of the church. And others have limited restrictions on photography. The great thing about St. Catherine’s is that they had little to no restrictions on photography 🙂 This makes covering the event and getting a bunch of great images a little easier!
Hire A Photographer With Experience
Once you’ve figured out if there are any restrictions on photography, you will want to make sure to hire a Photographer with a little experience. This is particularly important for a baptism because there is generally not a lot of light inside of churches. To your naked eye, this may not seem like the case – but to a camera sensor it is different 🙂
Because lighting is the most important factor for photography, hiring a professional who knows how to navigate this is important. There are many ways that a Photographer can handle situations with limited lighting. I prefer not to use flash (which is often not allowed inside of a church) and this requires a little experience. Having the proper equipment and knowing how to set your settings for this is really important. If a Photographer has not dealt with this type of situation, it may be a little challenging to navigate. So make sure the Photographer you hire is able to work with the lighting conditions inside of the church.
