Maternity Portraits At Shoreline Lake Park | Tiffany
It has been a while since I have scheduled maternity portraits at Shoreline Lake Park in Mountain View. It is a GORGEOUS location for portraits. There is a nice bridge, grass, water and a bunch of different backgrounds. The only drawback is that they sometimes have weddings scheduled on the weekends. This makes it a little difficult at times 🙂 On the day of Tiffany’s session, there was not a wedding scheduled and we were able to capture a lot of great images 🙂 Here are some of the images from their session. And some incites on taking professional portraits for the first time.
Portraits Are A Lot Easier Than You Think
The one thing I will say about portraits is that they are a lot easier than most people think. My goal with all of my sessions is to make them feel as natural and unposed as possible. There are many ways that I look to do this; and a go-to and easy pose I like are simple walking poses. In this pose, it doesn’t involve anyone looking at the camera. And walking and interacting with your family is REALLY easy!
I’ll Give You A Lot Of Space
One of the things that I like to do is to give everyone a little space. In most of the shots I am at least 30 or 40 feet away. I’ll get some wide shots and I’ll use a telephoto lens to zoom in for some tighter shots. I find that most people get a little uncomfortable when you are up close with a giant camera in their face 🙂 By giving people a little space, I find that they “warm up” to the camera after the first 15-20 minutes of the session. The majority of the time we will be talking and walking from one space to the next. I like to keep things fun and stress free – so that you have fun and enjoy the session.
If you are expecting a baby and want to schedule portraits, I would love to connect with you. The best way to reach out to me is through the contact form on my website. Thanks!
