If you live in Morgan Hill, a really great location for family pictures in Morgan Hill is Anderson Spillway Park. I’ve had a handful of sessions here and I really like the look of the images. Here are some of the family portraits of Melissa and her family that we captured.

Cool Wood Fencing To Pose On

One of the things I like about this location is the cool wood fencing. It is great to have in the background. And you can also get some nice pictures sitting on them or leaning against them 🙂

Picnic Benches For Posing Large Groups

Another really great thing about Anderson Spillway Park are the picnic benches. If you have a large group, you can use this to pose where some people are standing and the other people are sitting at the different levels of the benches. The benches are also in a great location with a background that is nice for the pictures.

Fallen Trees And Rocks To Also Pose On

The tree trunks and rocks make Anderson Spillway Park a really unique location. There are not too many other locations nearby that have this look. It is almost like you are in a mountain like location for the portraits. You can use the rocks and trees as a background; and you can also use them to sit and stand on for posing.

Great Lighting At Any Time Of Day

Last, but certainly not least, there is great lighting here at any time of the day. Since there are many areas where there is shade, you can take great pictures in the middle of the day. Many people do not understand the importance of good lighting for portraits – and Anderson Spillway Park has GREAT lighting.

PRO TIP: Although we did not take pictures near the water for Melissa’s session, Anderson Spillway Park has ponds/streams to take pictures near.
