Maternity Portraits At Hellyer Park | AJ
Hellyer Park is a really great location for maternity portraits! It has water, green grass, nice trees; and is usually pretty empty. Here are some of the beautiful maternity portraits at Hellyer Park of AJ & Leon. I’ll also share the two things that you can do to convey emotions in maternity portraits.
Using Your Hands For More Emotional Images
Maternity portraits are very similar to engagement portraits in the sense that you often want your images to capture emotions. These emotions can range from funny and playful to more romantic images. A great way to show emotions, especially with maternity portraits, is by the placement of your hands. Your hands can be used to frame your “baby bump.” And it can also be used to communicate emotions between you and your partner. A simple example of this can be placing your hands on top of your partner’s hands. Crossing your hands in your arms or putting them in your pockets is an opposite example.
Your Eyes Are The Most Important
Perhaps even more so than your hands, your eyes are another factor in conveying emotions. Looking right at the camera is great for certain images; however, this does very little in creating emotions. In fact, the majority of the images I like to capture will involve not looking into the camera.
One way to capture emotions with your eyes is by closing them. Closing your eyes as your partner gives you a kiss on the cheek is a classic example of this. Along these same lines, looking into the eyes of your partner and even looking off into the distance can convey emotions. Your eyes, essentially, tell the viewer of the image what is important.
