Senior Portraits In Los Gatos | Mikela
With everything going on for high school seniors, it is easy to overlook taking senior portraits. Senior portraits are a great way to celebrate the accomplishment of graduating high school. And the transition from high school to college or the “real world” 🙂 Here are some of the fun and candid senior portraits in Los Gatos of Mikela. As well as four suggestions to consider when looking to take senior portraits.
1. Pick A Day When Their Schedule Is Clear
First and foremost, I suggest scheduling the session on a day when their schedule is clear. Great times for this is when they are on break from school. If you are not going out of town, breaks are great for scheduling. If possible, I also suggest scheduling the session on a weekday in the evening. Weekdays tend to be a lot less busier than weekends. And the evening is the best time of day for lighting.
2. Incorporate Their High School And/Or Their New College Into The Session
Senior portraits should be a celebration of completing high school and moving on to the “real world.” I really like when seniors incorporate their high school or upcoming college into the session.
3. Make Sure A Parent Tags Along
A big suggestion I encourage is to have a parent tag along to the session. Whenever possible, I like to incorporate parents because they are usually able to get genuine expressions out of their children. For images like these, I may ask Mom, Dad, or the senior a question. Capturing the reaction to these fun and candid moments are usually my favorite images of the session.
4. Bring 2 or 3 Outfits
Lastly, I would also suggest bringing at least 2 – maybe even three outfits. Most locations have restrooms that we can use to quickly change outfits. Having a semi dressy outfit and a casual outfit works well.
