One of the best occasions to schedule family portraits is when a child is going off to college. Like many other points in your life, milestones are great occasions for family portraits. Kathleen’s session was last minute – but we were able to fit them in before her son was off to college! Here are some of the fun family portraits in Gilroy at a sunflower field! Consider Your Colors

One of the things I loved the most about Kathleen’s family portraits were the colors. The bright yellow sunflowers and their red outfits made for a BOLD look to their portraits. Both yellow and red are really strong colors. Combining them can make a really big statement! Some of the most popular companies have used this combination with a lot of success. For example, McDonald’s 😉 And I loved the way Kathleen’s images turned out.

Don’t Be Afraid To Be Silly

I really like capturing fun and candid images with families. Before the session ends, I ask clients for any posing ideas we may not have covered. During the session, feel free to throw out any fun ideas you want photographed. Often times, these are the images that you’ll LOVE the most 🙂 Often times, I end up using some of the fun posing ideas I get from clients for other sessions!

Have you ever been to someone’s home or office and noticed the family portraits they have up? Framed prints INSTANTLY add a warm touch to any space. I recommend getting prints and either using them as gifts to your family members. Or using them to decorate your office or home. For clients that I really have a fun time with, I will often send them a print of one my favorite images from their session.
