There are a few GREAT locations in San Jose for family portraits – and Hellyer Park is one of my favorites! Depending on the type of images you are looking for, Hellyer Park is a great general park location. Here are some of the fun family portraits of Stephanie and her family. As well as a few reasons why I love taking family portraits at Hellyer Park.

Hellyer Park Is Not As Busy As Other Locations

One of the great things about family portraits at Hellyer Park is that it is not too busy. In my experience, family portraits are a little easier when there are not too many people around. Kids have less distractions, and there are not any interruptions. While Hellyer Park is a pretty big park, I tend to shoot in the area of the park where most people are not at 🙂

It Has Beautiful Scenery

Perhaps the best thing about Hellyer Park is that it has really beautiful scenery! Depending on the time of the year, the grass can sometimes be yellow or green. And there are nice trees, and water that make for great backgrounds. I love getting walking shots along the cement paths – with the trees in the background.

Hellyer Park Is Easy To Get To

Another great feature of Hellyer Park is that it is really easy to get to. It is right off of Highway 101 – which makes it convenient to get to. This is especially important if you have never been to the park before. One of the things I make sure to do is to send a detailed email, before the session, on where to park and meet for the start of the session 😉
