Maternity Portraits At The Elizabeth Gamble Garden
One of the first things you want to do, after scheduling your maternity portraits is to figure out a location. Some locations only work well at certain times of the day. And there are a number of other factors to consider. I recommend touching bases with your Photographer to discuss locations that would work well for what you are looking for. If you are interested in flowers and a garden setting, I highly recommend the Elizabeth Gamble Garden in Palo Alto. The garden is well maintained and has a variety of nice flowers and plants throughout the entire year. Here are some of Aruna’s maternity portraits at the Elizabeth Gamble Garden. As well as four poses I like to use for maternity portraits 🙂
Sitting Poses
One of the things I LOVE about the Elizabeth Gamble Garden is that there are benches to pose with. I like to get a variety of different poses and sitting poses work really well 🙂 These poses can be done on a table, on a bench, and sometimes they can be taken on the ground.
Hearts On Your Baby Bump
Another cute pose I like to do is making a heart on your baby bump 🙂 There are several ways to do this. You can use one of each of your hands to form a heart. You can have one person making a heart and the other holding a prop. And you can even get a heart shape reflection – if the sun is in the right direction!
With Your Partner Looking Away
With maternity portraits, I like to create a candid and natural feel. One of the ways that I like to do this is by having your partner face a different direction. For example, hey can be glancing off in the distance while you are looking at your baby bump. This creates a sense of mystery and curiosity to the image 🙂
Kissing The Baby And Listening For The Baby
Lastly, I also like to get a couple of images where your partner is on one knee kissing the baby. I’ve come to find that some people like these types of images and others may not 🙂 But most people think it’s cute!
If you are interested in maternity portraits, I highly recommend scheduling your maternity portraits at the Elizabeth Gamble Garden. It is truly one of the prettiest places for garden portraits in the Bay Area. Thanks!
