Senior Portraits In Mountain View | Some of My Favorite Poses
When taking senior portraits, one of the most important things is variety. Variety in outfits (I recommend at least two outfits). As well as a variety in the types of poses. Here are some of my favorite poses from Fallon’s senior portraits in Mountain View.
A Variety Of Sitting Poses
One of my favorite poses for senior portraits are sitting poses. Since teenagers are a little more agile, these usually work really well 🙂 Often times I will have them sit directly on the ground, on stairs, or on a bench – when available.
Standing
One of the simplest poses are standing poses. With standing poses, I like to get a variety of poses by changing the position of the high schooler’s hands. For example, I may have them cross their arms or have their hands on their hips. I also like to have them cross their legs at the ankles for even more variety 🙂
Leaning On Something
I also like to get some leaning poses. Leaning poses give off a kind of a cool look to the images. And every high schooler wants to be cool 🙂 Or at least look cool for their pictures!
Candid Shots With Natural Smiles
Perhaps the main objective for me, when taking senior portraits, is to get candid shots with natural smiles. For this reason, I really like bringing along a parent to help out with this. One of the ways parents can help is by answering questions for me. For example, one of the questions I may ask is “what is Fallon going to be when she gets older?” Her mom answered, “An Astronaut!” In my experience, posing questions and answers work really well to get natural smiles.
Silly Poses
Lastly, I also like to get some silly poses – if the high schoolers are up to it 🙂 I will usually ask if there are any poses that we missed – and that is when these come out 🙂
