Where To Take Family Pictures In San Jose | My Three Favorite Locations
When it comes to taking family pictures, finding the right location is important. Especially if you want to stay close to home π Here are some suggestions on where to take family pictures in San Jose.
Hellyer Park
One of my favorite places to take family pictures in San Jose is at Hellyer Park. So, what makes this location so great?
- It is easy to get to: One of the first things that make Hellyer Park a great place to take family pictures is that it is easy to get to. If you are in San Jose β or coming from another city, it is right off of Highway 101. Being on time, and not rushed, is the first step to a successful session β and an easy place to get to makes this possible π
- Beautiful scenery: Perhaps the best part about Hellyer Park is itβs beautiful scenery! The large oak trees! The water. And all of the grass to run around in makes for really nice pictures.
- There are not a lot of people: Another good thing about Hellyer Park is that there are not a lot of people. For me, this is a GREAT feature π No one to worry about running around in the background of pictures. And no distractions for family portraits with kids.
Bernal Ranch Park
Another good place for family pictures in San Jose is Bernal Ranch Park. Here is what makes Bernal Ranch Park a good location:
- It has a unique look: Perhaps the best thing about Bernal Ranch Park is that it has a unique look. It is a lot different than a park and is one of the only rustic family portrait locations in San Jose.
- Kids really like it: Another thing that is good about Bernal Ranch Park is that kids really like it. There is plenty of space to run around, there is a cool chicken coop, and plenty of things to climb on.
- It is quiet: Just like, Hellyer Park, Bernal Ranch Park is really quiet! It is located in a neighborhood and you would only know it was there if you live close by.
Almaden Lake Park
Last but not least on the list is Almaden Lake Park. Here are a few reasons that make the park a great location:
- The Lake: If you like taking pictures by the water, this is a great location. It photographs particularly well in the evening. And I do not recommend scheduling a session here otherwise π
- The Bridge Is Also Great For Pictures: Another thing I like about this park is the bridge. It pictures really well and is a great place for one of my favorite poses β the walking shot!
- Fun things to do after the session ends: A great thing about this park is that there are a couple of playgrounds for after the session. If you are taking family portraits with small children, this is a great incentive for them. Sometimes incentives go a long way!
