Wedding Planning During The Corona Virus

3 Things To Consider While Wedding Planning During The Corona Virus

If you are like me, the affects of the Corona Virus has shaken up almost every aspect of your daily life. And if you are wedding planning during the corona virus, it has definitely affected this as well! The wedding photography industry will definitely need to adjust. As well as every other wedding vendor. If you are planning a wedding – here are a few things to consider 🙂

Your “Perfect” Wedding May Not Be Possible

One of the first things to keep in mind is that pulling off the perfect wedding may not be possible. Due to the Corona Virus, certain precautions may need to be put in place to even be able to have a wedding. And many of your wedding vendors will be affected as well. For example, if you plan on using a small, local food vendor – they may have had to dramatically scale back their business due to the lost business. I recommend keeping in close touch with all of your wedding vendors so that everyone is on the same page. Certain things you may have been planning for your wedding may need to be rethought.

Contingency Plans Will Need To Be Well Thought Out

Another thing to really consider is that the Corona Virus can affect every person that you plan on having attend your wedding, all of the vendors, and even you and your partner. For example, if you plan on having a family member perform a song during your ceremony – but they test positive days before the wedding. One of the scariest things that can occur is if one of your main vendors like your DJ, Videographer, or Wedding Photographer test positive for the Corona Virus in the days leading up to your wedding. Most wedding vendors will have a back up plan, in the case of an emergency. So it is important to communicate with your vendors to make sure they have a plan.

Consider Moving Your Wedding Date or Your Venue

Lastly, you and your partner may need to seriously consider moving your wedding date and/or venue. Most of my wedding couples have chosen to move their wedding dates to the end of the year or to 2021. By this time, certain restrictions may be lifted – which will make it easier to pull off your wedding.

Another thing to consider is whether or not your wedding is at a venue that can have a wedding with social distancing in mind. For example, if you plan on having a lot of people attend your wedding. Having the wedding at an indoor venue may not be possible. I would recommend looking into outdoor wedding venues. Depending on the venue, you may be able to space people far enough away from each other.

The Silver Lining

Certain parts of your wedding will definitely need to be adjusted. But this does not mean that you cannot still have a great wedding. I highly recommend working with a wedding planner who can help you plan your wedding. I imagine couples having personalized face masks for all of their guests. And a wedding planner will have all kinds of ideas to make your wedding day special.
