Family Portraits At Guglielmo Winery

Family Portraits At Guglielmo Winery | Three Tips For Family Portraits At A Winery

Wineries are typically some of the most beautiful locations for family portraits. While these types of locations are the perfect location for portraits, there are a few things to consider. Take a look at these family portraits at Guglielmo Winery and some tips to consider before the session.

Make Sure You Have Permission To Shoot At The Winery

Perhaps the most important thing to consider is that many wineries do not allow professional photography sessions. Reaching out to the winery beforehand will ensure that you do not show up for a session and are asked to leave. Check to see if your Photographer has an established partnership with the winery. Or if you can be granted access because you are a member of the winery. Most wineries do not allow people to just show up and take pictures – so make sure to get this squared away beforehand 😉

Also, keep in mind that wineries are a popular venue for weddings and other events. Your session would need to be scheduled on a day and time there is nothing going on.

Schedule The Session In The Early Morning or Evening

Another thing to consider is the time of the session. The early morning or the evening are great times – in terms of lighting. And at these times, the winery may not be open to guests. If you are able to schedule the session when there are no guests, this will make the session a lot easier.

Make Plans For Before or After The Session

Lastly, I recommend making a day out of the session. If you and your family are into wine, having a picnic before or after the session is a fun idea. There is no need to be nervous for the session – but having a glass of wine beforehand may help loosen you up a little!
