Three of My Favorite Fun and Candid Wedding Poses
On the day of your wedding, the last thing you want to be focused on is how to pose for photos. I believe wedding photos should feel natural and should capture candid expressions. Here are three of my favorite fun and candid wedding poses.
Simple Walking Shots
One of the easiest wedding poses that I like to do with couples are walking shots. This may seem really simple and easy – but it is one of the best poses. On your wedding day, there will be very few moments where you and your partner get to spend alone together. In my experience, giving you some distance and photographing you as you walk is one of the easiest ways to get candid and natural images. You can talk about all of the events of the day and anything funny that occurred 😉
Question And Response Poses
Another way that I like to capture fun and candid wedding poses is by asking questions. Most of them are really funny and they get great reactions. For example, one of the questions I like to ask is what each person was thinking as they saw their partner walking down the aisle. The responses are usually really funny and it makes for great images.
Question and response poses work with couple portraits and portraits with family. Most of the times I cannot hear what is being said, but the reactions are genuine and candid reactions to whatever has been said 🙂
A Kiss On The Cheek or a Whisper in The Ear
One of the ways to show intimacy is by having you and your partner really close to each other. Sometimes this alone is enough to create a fun and candid moment. While you guys are close, I like to either have your partner whisper something in your ear (usually something you don’t want others to hear). Or I also like to have your partner kiss you on the cheek as you close your eyes. In my experience, closing your eyes and anticipating a little kiss on your cheek can get a really great expression.
When shooting weddings, I like capturing and creating images that feel natural and unposed. Hopefully these fun and candid wedding poses give you an example of poses for your own wedding 🙂 If you are planning on “tying the knot,” I would love to hear from you! Thanks!
