Fun Flintstones Themed Family Portraits In San Jose
Sometimes the best way to make family portraits fun is to have a theme associated with them! Here are some of the fun Flintstones themed family portraits taken in San Jose (Martial Cottle Park). As well as three things that made this session go really well.
We Had A Great Location That Matched The Theme
One of the most important parts to having themed family portraits is the location. Whenever possible, scheduling the session at a location that closely matches the theme will make the images turn out really well. For this session, we were able to find a playground area that went well with the Flintstones themed family portraits ๐
If you are not sure about a good location, make sure to check with your Photographer. They may know of several locations that have great backdrops.
Everyone Had Costumes And Props โ Even The Pets!
Another thing that made this session go really well was that everyone had costumes and props. Even the two dogs! While everyone in the family may not be as excited as others, it is important that everyone participates ๐ In my experience, most women and kids LOVE these kinds of portraits and most men do not!
There Was Excitement Built Up Around The Session And There Were Incentives To Keep The Kids Excited
So a way to ensure that everyone is engaged in the session is to build the excitement leading up to the session and to provide incentives. With kids, mentioning that you are excited for the session will help them get excited as well. I recommend mentioning this to them at least a few days before the actual session. Along with this, you can give an incentive to everyone. For example, after the session everyone can go out to ice cream or your favorite restaurant. In my experience, this works well with both kids and adults ๐
Hopefully these Flintstones themed family portraits have given you an idea on a theme you can use for your own session! Make sure to find a location that matches your theme, get costumes for everyone โ even pets, and build excitement and provide incentives. Thanks!
