Four Headshot Tips For Women
Having an updated, professional headshot is one of the best things you can do as a business women. It helps you stand out and provides a good first impression. Here are four simple headshot tips for women that will help you stand out!
Consider Getting Your Hair And Makeup Professionally Done
One of the best headshot tips for women is to get your hair and makeup professionally done. I recommend doing this if you have previously worked with a hair and makeup artist and they know your “look.” If you have never worked with a specific hair and makeup artist, make sure to keep it simple. If you typically do not wear a lot of makeup, you do not want your headshot to be drastically different than how you would come into the office on a Monday morning 😉
But getting your hair and makeup done will give you a level of confidence going into your headshot. I also recommend planning something after the session. If you get your hair and makeup done, and are all dressed up, make sure to plan something fun afterwards!
Bring Multiple Outfits
One of the toughest choices to make is the outfit you choose to wear. In this case, I definitely recommend bringing multiple outfits. This gives you a variety of different options to chose and use for different purposes. For example, you can choose a casual outfit and a more dressy outfit for the second outfit… if you are stuck on a specific color top, just bring both 😉
Wear Simple Accessories To Compliment Your Attire
Another one of my headshot tips for women is to wear simple accessories to compliment your attire. When someone looks at your headshot, you want them to look right into your eyes; and as much as possible, you do not want to distract with your outfit, the background, or any accessories. Simple accessories like a necklace and earrings will do the trick 😉
Take A Look At Your Counterparts Headshots For Consistency
Last but not least, I also recommend taking a quick look at your companies website – to get a feel for the type of headshots they have. If all of the headshots are on a specific colored background, or everyone is wearing a certain type of attire, I recommend matching your headshot with this. Some companies may even require you to have a headshot that matches certain criteria. If not, feel free to chose an outfit, background, etc. based off of what best suites you 😉
Hopefully these four headshot tips for women have been helpful! Thanks 🙂
