How To Tag Your Photographer In Photos | Three Reasons To Do So
So you had a great session, received a bunch of really fun images, and now you are trying to figure out what to do with them. I encourage clients to make prints, albums, and to post some of the images online. If you plan on posting your images online or on social media, one of the best things you can do is to tag your Photographer 😉
I recently took some family portraits at the Arizona Cactus Garden (Stanford, CA). And here are some of the images from the session as well as how to tag your Photographer in Photos 😉
Tagging Your Photographer Helps Them Get “Found” on the Internet
Perhaps the number one reason to tag your Photographer in photos is because it helps get them “found” on the internet. The more times your Photographer’s website is mentioned online, the more authority it gives to their site. The most common ways to do so are:
- A direct link to their website (https://www.stevencottonphotography.com)
- Using their social media handle (@stevencottonphotography)
- Adding their hashtag (#stevencottonphotography)
I prefer directly linking to my website – as I do not post a lot of information on social media. But check with your Photographer to see what they prefer 😉
It Helps Get Referrals From Your Friends and Family
Another reason to tag your Photographer in photos is because it helps them to get more referrals! If you have a great session and post a lot of the images online, people may want to know who took them. Some people may ask you directly; however, most people will not. Tagging your Photographer ensures that anyone who may be interested in scheduling their own session can easily reach out to the Photographer.
It Lets Them Know You Like The Images
Last but not least, Photographers like to see their images floating around online 🙂 In my experience, the majority of clients do not end up corresponding with their Photographer after they receive their final images. A good way to show that you enjoyed the session is to post them online, tag them, and also to leave an online review. EVERY Photographer loves this and it makes them feel appreciated. And who doesn’t like to feel appreciated every now and then? 🙂
Hopefully this has been helpful in learning how to tag your Photographer in photos and three reasons to do so! Thanks!
