How To Plan A Stress Free Wedding

7 Tips On How To Plan A Stress Free Wedding

Your wedding day will be one of the most memorable days of your life. But planning and pulling off your dream wedding can be a little stressful. In my experience, there are several ways to minimize or eliminate a lot of stress. And so here are 7 useful tips on how to plan a stress free wedding! As well as some of the fun images from images from Rachel & Carl’s wedding at Temama Golf Club.

1. Schedule Engagement Portraits With Your Photographer

My first tip on how to plan a stress free wedding is to schedule engagement portraits with your Photographer. Some of the most important photos you will take, on your wedding day, are your couples portraits. If you have never taken professional portraits, working with your Wedding Photographer before your wedding day can be VERY helpful. It is a great way to get familiar with your Photographer. And most of the poses that you do during your engagement portraits will be the same poses you use on your wedding day. Being familiar with your Photographer and some of the poses will give you confidence and eliminate a lot of stress on your wedding day!

2. Minimize Travel Between Venues

Another tip on how to plan a stress free wedding is to minimize or eliminate travel between venues. If possible, choose a venue where you can get ready at the same location of the wedding. Getting ready at a hotel is a great idea; however, it will involve hard cut-off times. If things run a little behind, having to travel from one spot to another can add unnecessary stress.

3. Hire An Event Planner or Coordinator

The third recommendation on how to plan a stress free wedding is to hire an Event Planner or day of Wedding Coordinator. Many venues will include this on your wedding day. But if it is not included, I highly recommend hiring one. They can give useful suggestions and they are especially important on keeping your wedding day on schedule. The last thing that you want to do, on your wedding day, is to be running around. An Event Planner/Coordinator can do this for you – so that you can focus on enjoying your day.

4. Add Extra Time On Your Wedding Timeline

Perhaps the most important way to eliminate stress on your wedding day is how you organize your wedding timeline. In my experience, the more time that you have in between the different segments – the less stress you will have. For example, if you are scheduled to finish up hair and makeup by 12 PM, plan on this ending at 12:30 or 12:45 PM. If things run 15-30 minutes behind, it will end up not affecting much 😉

5. Have A First Look Before The Ceremony

The fifth tip on how to plan a stress free wedding is to consider doing a first look. In the last several years, first looks have been a popular wedding trend. But doing a first look is more than a cool wedding trend. It can eliminate a lot of stress on your wedding day as well. This is due to the fact that you can do most or all of the formal poses before the ceremony. And you can also capture some or all of your couples portraits as well. If you are able to take most or all of your posed photos before the ceremony, you can use the cocktail hour to mingle with your guests. The cocktail hour is a REALLY fun part of your wedding day and being able to enjoy it with your friends and family can be fun and take away a lot of stress 😉

6. Do A Day Before Walkthrough At The Venue

I also recommend doing a day before walkthrough at your wedding venue. Most wedding venues will include this in the planning of your wedding – but some will not. Having your wedding party, and anyone else who will be participating in the ceremony, run through things before the big day will make the actual ceremony seamless. During the day before walkthrough, you’ll go over where the bridal party will stand, how you will be walking down the aisle. etc. If you plan on having kids included in the ceremony (flower girl, ring bearer, etc.), this is especially important for them. Getting them used to what they will be doing on the day of the wedding can give them a big confidence boost!

7. Don’t Stress The Small Details

My last tip on how to plan a stress free wedding is not to stress the small details. Because there are a lot of moving parts, there is a small chance that things may not go 100% perfect. Although you may have been planning your wedding for many months, and know all of the details that went into planning your wedding, your guests will have no idea 🙂 Focus on the most important part of your wedding – which is celebrating your nuptials with your friends and family!

Hopefully these seven tips on how to plan a stress free wedding have been useful! Thanks!
