If you have never taken headshots, you probably have a few questions. One of the most frequently asked questions is, “how long do headshots take?” Below are a few quick things to consider when scheduling headshots 🙂
Studio Headshots Are Quick And Easy!

The great thing about taking headshots in a studio is that they are quick and easy. In the studio, the lighting is controlled and the settings pretty much stay the same from one headshot to the next. Before the session, you can let your Photographer know the type of background you’d like – so that they can have it set up before you come in. Once everything is set up and ready to go, the actual headshots take about 5-7 minutes. I typically will photograph people straight on, angled to the left, and angled to the right. If you are taking the headshots for a company, make sure to let your Photographer know the requirements before the session 😉
Changing Outfits Adds A Little More Time To The Session

In some instances, you may want to take headshots in different outfits. For example, one with a suit coat and another set of images that are a little more casual. The great thing about having multiple looks is that you can use the headshots for different purposes. If you choose to change into a different outfit, the total time for the session may only take 15 minutes at the most. Which is still pretty quick!
You Will Receive The Final Images In Just A Few Business Days

Once all of the images are taken, the editing typically only takes a few business days. If you need to receive your images in a certain amount of time, make sure to run this by your Photographer before the session. Depending on the day, I can occasionally edit the images by the end of the day. But there are other instances where I may be editing a handful of sessions before I get to your images.
