Three Tips On How To Capture Candid In Home Maternity Portraits in Morgan Hill
Most of my maternity portrait sessions are taken at an outdoor location. However, I occasionally schedule in home maternity portraits. In home maternity portraits are convenient because it takes a little less preparation. And it can also be a great option because of the sentimental value of the images being taken in your own home. Here are some recent in home maternity portraits in Morgan Hill. As well as three tips on getting the best possible images from your session.
Natural And Unposed Images Look The Best
I believe that the best images are natural, candid, and feel unposed. This is especially the case when it comes to maternity portraits with small children. If you have specific poses that you’d like to take with your little ones, I recommend practicing them a few days before the session. Chances are, the kids will only be in a handful of images and practicing the poses beforehand will help prepare them. I also recommend poses doing things that they normally do – such as reading books. If the book is about becoming a big sister, this can be a really cute prop as well 🙂
The More Room, The Better
For in home maternity portraits, you do not need to worry about cleaning the entire house. Selecting one room in the house should be enough. The living room, a bedroom, or a nursery all can work really well. For these in home maternity portraits in Morgan Hill, we took most of the images in the nursery. Keep in mind that the more room the better. The more space that your Photographer has to work with, the more creative the images can be. I LOVE using doorways and windows to creatively frame some images and so having space to move can be helpful for this.
Consider Taking Pictures In The Front Or Backyard
Lastly, the back or front yard can also be a good location for some of the images. When deciding on whether to use the front or backyard, I recommend taking a look at the lighting, at the same time of the session – a day or so prior to the session. A good amount of open shade works really well for outdoor images.
