Graduating high school is a huge accomplishment and milestone for families. And one of the best ways to celebrate this accomplishment is to take senior portraits. Here are some recent high school senior portraits at Stanford University. As well as a few things you can do to prepare for your session.

Plan Your Session Well In Advance

One of the most important things that you can do to prepare for your session is to plan it well in advance. Planning in advance gives you the chance to plan a location, pick an outfit, schedule to get your hair cut or done, etc. This also gives you the opportunity to have as much input as possible into the session and not feel rushed.

Have A Brief Conversation With Your Photographer Before The Session

Along with planning in advance, getting on the same page with your Photographer is also important. Your Photographer can provide guidance on what to bring to the session, where to meet for the start of the session, and answer any questions you may have.

Bring A Parent, Sibling, or Friend To The Session

One of the biggest tips that I can recommend for senior portraits is to have a parent, sibling, or close friend to the session. Chances are, this may be the first time that you are taking professional portraits and so having someone there with you can make you feel much more comfortable. They can also help carry your belongings for you, or point out anything that is out of place with your outfit, hair, etc. Parents, siblings, and friends are also welcome to be included in a few portraits if you’d like as well.
