Outdoor Family Portraits at Vasona Park | Aline
I was really excited to work with Aline for her family portraits. Since they had never taken family portraits, we decided to have their outdoor family portraits at Vasona Park in Los Gatos.
Family Portraits Are Easier Than You Think
I often hear clients say, “I’m not good at taking pictures.” The fact of the matter is than anyone has taken a bad picture at one point or another. I make family portraits really easy by focusing the majority of the session getting everyone having fun and doing things that feel natural and unposed.
Weekday Sessions Are Less Crowded
I really like taking portraits on weekdays. During the week, most of the venues have very few people and this tends to make the session a little easier. We can enjoy the park all to ourselves and I find that having less people around makes people more comfortable. On the weekends, Vasona Park is a very popular park for exercisers, birthday parties, and people visiting the park with their children. Having the session on a weekday and in the evening is perhaps the best time to take outdoor portraits.
Make Sure to Get Pictures of Mom and Dad
Throughout the session we will make sure to get all of the different groupings of your family. We will definitely get a bunch of images of the entire family – but getting pictures of other groupings is also important. For example: mom and the kids, dad and the kids, just the kids, etc. And of course, we cannot forget to get at least one or two images of Mom and Dad 🙂
If you are planning family portraits, I would love to connect with you. The very best way to reach me is through the contact form on my website. Thanks!
