Fun Family Portraits In Palo Alto | Loretta
Palo Alto is a really beautiful place for outdoor family portraits. One of my favorite locations in Palo Alto is the Elizabeth Gamble Garden. Depending on the time of the year, they have some really beautiful beautiful areas for family portraits. Here are some of the fun family portraits in Palo Alto with Loretta and her family. And 4 things you can bring to your next family portrait session 🙂
Bring The Grandparents
Bringing extra family members, like Grandparents, have a lot of benefits for family portraits with children. One of the benefits is that you can get a bunch of really great portraits with the children and grandparents. Another great benefit of bringing the grandparents (or other family members) to your family portrait session is that they can help grab the kids attention while you pose with them. Depending on the age of your children, this can be a difficult thing for a Photographer to do. Instead of having your Photographer try to grab the kids attention – while also snapping the pictures, grandparents or other family members can assist with this 🙂
Bring a Ball, a Book, or Something Fun For Candid Shots
One really great way to make your family portrait session your own is to bring something for the kids to play with. When photographing kids, the best way to get them smiling for pictures is to let them have fun. Kids love to be tickled, tossed in the air, put upside down and to just play. Getting moments of them being themselves are really cute pictures that you’ll enjoy looking back on. At some point, they’ll be too bid to toss in the air and to put on top of your shoulders – so don’t under estimate these candid photo opportunities.
Bring a Treat
One of the ways to motivate children to participate and smile in pictures is to bring a treat for them. Promise them a cupcake at the end of the session, for example, is a great way to keep them engaged.
Bring a Second Pair of Clothes
Bringing a second pair of clothes is a really smart idea for family portraits involving kids. A lot of the images we will look to capture will be of them running and having fun. And sometimes they may stumble and get their clothes a little dirty. Having a second pair of clothes to change into will ensure that we can keep shooting if an accident happens 🙂
