Sunset Maternity Portraits in Palo Alto | Daphne
If you did not know, sunset is one of the best times to take outdoor portraits. The lighting is very dynamic and flattering. And this is exactly what you want for really creative portraits. Here are some of the BEAUTIFUL sunset maternity portraits in Palo Alto of Daphne 🙂 And two tips on taking maternity portraits.
Schedule Your Portraits Around 34-36 Weeks
One thing to consider, when taking maternity portraits, is how far along in your pregnancy you should take them. Scheduling your portraits around 34-36 weeks is ideal. At this time, you are still comfortable to move around and pose for pictures. You are also showing enough to where your baby bump is prominent. Scheduling around this time is also great if the session needs to be rescheduled for some reason. If the weather is not cooperating on the day of your session, you can always reschedule and not have to worry about the baby coming 🙂
Wear Something Bright
You can wear anything you want for your maternity portraits. The Elizabeth Gamble Garden is my favorite place for sunset maternity portraits in Palo Alto – because of the colors. In the fall, there are beautiful orange and yellow colors on the trees. And wearing something that is complimentary to some of these colors is a great idea to make your images pop. I LOVED Daphne’s purple dress because it went really well with the greens and yellows that were in the background. Two colors that I would steer clear of are white and black. Since you are trying to highlight your baby bump – you want to be able to see it. White and black are hard to see the shape of your baby bump… if you absolutely have to wear these colors, having a pattern on the outfit will help a little.
