Printing Family Portraits – Why It’s Important

Printing Family Portraits & Three Reasons It Is Important

So you finally got around to finding time to take family portraits. GREAT job! Most people put this off year-after-year and then they look up and their kids are off to college. But this is not you – so you are good 🙂 But taking your family portraits is just the first step. The second and most important step, of course, is to leave a RAVING REVIEW of your Photographer 🙂 Just kidding. Kinda… but after you’ve written a review, a REALLY important step in the process is making prints. Here are three reasons printing family portraits is so important.

Prints Last Longer

There is absolutely nothing wrong with posting your wonderful images on social media. But with all of the thousands of pictures people see on their social media feeds, your pictures will be lost in the shuffle in a matter of days. New posts bury your post of all of your wonderful images; and before you know it, no one even sees them. Making prints of your portraits is more of a permanent statement. It shows that it is something important to you. Have you ever been to a home and seen the same framed print in their home for 5,6,7 years?! I know I have. And it shows that the picture that is up on their wall really means something 🙂

Prints Are Fancy

Look – prints are just fancy. A great family portrait cannot be hidden and stored away on your computer for no one to see. They should be printed. And REALLY-REALLY-BIG! They can be printed and placed in your home or even your office at work. Taking the time to print something shows that it is really important to you.

Prints Make Excellent Gifts

Prints are excellent gifts to give to friends and family. Grandparents love getting them; and Dad’s love prints of their children to put on their desk. I just got a print of my daughter and I, for Father’s Day, and it is one of the first things I see when I go into my office to start my day. There are dozens of gifts you can use of your family portraits.
