Newborn Portraits In Morgan Hill | Carli
While “traditional” newborn portraits is not an area that I specialize in, I LOVE getting simply posed shots of newborns. In my experience, it is much easier on the parents and kids to have a relaxed session without all of the bells and whistles. I do not put children in little baskets – or pose them in unnatural poses. I find that sometimes this works well and other times it doesn’t! So sticking to poses that are simple and easy to do is how I approach these types of sessions. Here are some of the newborn portraits in Morgan Hill of Baby Carli 🙂 As well as a brief description of how newborn sessions are set up.
The Session Takes Place At Your Home
For the session, we will set up a small area of your home to take the pictures at. This can be a living room, or any area that has enough room to set up a small backdrop, a light, and a bean bag 🙂 I find that having the session at your home works really well for everyone. After the baby arrives, it takes a lot to pack up, get ready, and go somewhere else for portraits. Your home is a much better option!
We Will Take Several Breaks To Feed The Baby And Keep Them Relaxed
Newborn sessions take just about 2 hours. A good chunk of this is spending time keeping the baby fed and calm enough to take the portraits. I recommend feeding the baby about 30-60 minutes before the start of the session. If we are able to time the session to start right after you have fed them and gotten them nice and comfortable, this works really well.
Keep The House Nice And Warm, Play White Noise
Another thing that I have found works really well is to keep the house really warm. While it may be a little warm for adults – babies are most relaxed in a really warm environment. They like being kept warm by blankets – but since we will be posing them in fewer layers, keeping the house warm is important. If you are also able to play white noise, this also works really well to keep babies calm 😉
Hopefully this has given you a little better incite on how newborn portraits are taken! If you are interested in scheduling a session, I would love to hear from you 🙂
