Lifestyle Newborn Portraits In Saratoga

Lifestyle Newborn Portraits In Saratoga | Mason

Having your first child is a really exciting moment for couples! Getting used to the baby, how often they wake up, figuring out why they are fussy, and much-much more take a little getting used to. This is why it is perfectly OK if you push your newborn session out several weeks. I recommend scheduling the session in the first 3-7 days after the baby arrives. However, it is most important that you are feeling up to it 🙂 In the first week or so, the baby is mostly asleep and so it is much easier to pose them for pictures. In the below article, I will show you some of the images we captured of Mason’s lifestyle newborn portraits in Saratoga. As well as three areas of your home that we can take pictures 🙂

A Backdrop Can Be Set Up In Pretty Much Any Area of Your Home

For the session, I will bring a small white backdrop, a large bean bag, and lighting. With the backdrop, we can get simply posed shots of the baby and shots of people holding the baby as well. The backdrop is large enough to photograph up to three people – plus the baby. If the baby is asleep, we can take pictures of them on the bean bag. But if they are awake, we can focus on shots holding the baby with the white backdrop.

Living Rooms Work Really Well For Portraits

For lifestyle newborn portraits, I like getting shots of your family around your home. One of the best places to take these kinds of images is in the living room. Couches work really well for posing with the baby. And I love getting reflections off of tables or mirrors. These images can be taken if the baby is asleep or if they are awake. We will try to get a few shots of everyone looking right at the camera. But my favorite shots are of you and the baby looking right at each other.

Getting Shots In The Babies Nursery Is CUTE!

If you have a nursery for the baby, this is also a great place for photos. It has a special meaning because this is where you and the baby will spend a lot of time. We can get shots of the baby in the crib and with Mom and Dad holding the baby in their rocking chair.

Hopefully this brief article has given you a little more incite into lifestyle newborn portraits 🙂 If you are expecting an addition to your family, I would love to connect with you. Thanks!
