Maternity Pictures at Elizabeth Gamble Garden
The Elizabeth Gamble Garden is one of the best garden location in the Bay Area. It is one of my favorite places for maternity portraits. Here are some of Chanel and Brahm’s maternity pictures at Elizabeth Gamble Garden, as well as four features I LOVE about the garden.
It Has a Lot of Beautiful Plants and Flowers
Since it is a garden, you can expect plenty of plants and flowers 🙂 The one thing that I have noticed is that the volunteers do an excellent job maintaining the garden. Often times, they are there while I am photographing a session… the plants and flowers make for great backgrounds – but I also love getting them in the foreground of images. Images where there are plants in the foreground give off the feel of an intimate moment. For maternity portraits, this is something I love doing – as much as possible 🙂
The Benches Allow For Different Posing Options
Another thing I really like about the garden are the benches. There are at least 5 or 6 different benches and it allows for different posing options. In my experience, as you get a little close to your due date – it is hard to move around and pose. Benches are a lot better than getting sitting shots on the ground. At the end of your pregnancy, sitting and getting back up is hard to do. So the benches are perfect for being able to get non-standing poses.
There Are A Bunch of Red Bricks Throughout The Garden
Throughout the garden, there are a bunch of red brick structures and walkways. I love the look of these in pictures! The color and texture of the bricks gives a really good look. And they do a great job complimenting the plants and flowers 🙂
The Home Front Area
I believe that the Elizabeth Gamble Garden uses the “home front” area as an office – but it is also great for pictures. I like getting shots on the stairs and in front of the doors.
One of the best features of a location are the various different backgrounds and areas for pictures. Some places are really beautiful – but only have one area where you can take pictures. For sessions lasting 30-60 minutes, I like to have at least 5 different settings for pictures. The great thing about the Elizabeth Gamble Garden is that there are a ton of nice areas! If you are looking to take maternity portraits, I would love to connect with you. The best way to reach me is through the contact form on my website or through a quick email ([email protected]). Thanks!
