Senior Portrait Locations In Mountain View | Shoreline Lake Park/Rengstorf House

One of my favorite senior portrait locations in Mountain View is Shoreline Lake Park. At Shoreline Lake Park, there is also the Rengstorf House – and so the two are interchangeable 😉 Here are some of the fun and candid images from Lia’s session!

Shoreline Lake Park Is Great Because of All of The Different Backgrounds

Perhaps the best thing about Shoreline Lake Park is that there is a wide variety of backgrounds. It has grass/plants/flowers, a couple of wooden bridges, red bricks, and the Rengstorf House. Oh and it also has a beautiful lake! Having all of these options for backgrounds allows for a variety of different backgrounds for your images. Often times locations have just one place to take pictures. And that can be REALLY boring! Scheduling your session at Shoreline Lake Park allows us to move around and it makes the session a lot more fun 🙂

When The Lighting Is Good, Pictures By The Lake Turn Out Really Well

As I mentioned above, there is a BEAUTIFUL lake! The best time for outdoor portraits is definitely in the evening – but we got lucky for Lia’s session 🙂 It happened to be a little overcast and this allowed the sun to be softened enough for pictures by the lake!

You Can Take Pictures Here At Most Times of The Day

One of the most important parts to a good image is lighting. If your session is not scheduled in the EARLY morning or in the evening – shade is your next best option. Shade creates soft and flattering lighting. So things like buildings that have a shaded side to it, trees, etc. are necessary for nice soft lighting. Shoreline Lake Park has a bunch of this – so scheduling your session in the afternoon is not a problem here 🙂
