How To Safely Take Pictures During Covid-19 | 5 Tips

Covid-19 has changed nearly every aspect of our everyday lives. As more-and-more things start to open and we slowly start to get back to normal, certain precautions should be made. Here are 5 easy tips to consider on how to safely take pictures during Covid-19.

Have Open Communication With Your Photographer, Reschedule If Someone Is Not Feeling Well

First and foremost, having open communication with your Photographer is important. During these times, many Photographers are more flexible than they normally would with rescheduling appointments. If you or someone in your family are not feeling well, it is best to reschedule the session. In the case that your Photographer is also not feeling well, being flexible with them should also be considered. The last thing anyone wants is for someone to feel under the weather and feel obligated to continue with the session.

Make Greetings From A Distance

As a Photographer, I have had to get used to making greetings from a distance. Instead of a hand shake or a hug, a friendly wave or an air high-five is the norm ๐Ÿ™‚ In my experience, adults are well aware of the need to make this adjustment. However, this may need to be reiterated with younger kids. If you children are under five, I would have a brief conversation about this before the start of the session.

Bring Masks To Wear As You Walk From Location To Location

One of the things that I have noticed is that the parks are MUCH busier than normal. I think most people want to get out of the house and enjoy the nice whether โ€“ and so parks are really busy. Even during the weekdays.

While you will not need to have your masks on for the pictures, it is a good idea to wear them in between. Having a mask that is easy to slip on-and-off is a good idea. And it can be placed in a back pocket or purse in between poses.

Social Distance While Posing For And Taking Pictures

The great thing about photography is that it can be done with social distancing in mind. I typically like to give clients as much space as possible and this is particularly important during these times.

Pay Your Invoice Online โ€“ Before The Start of The Session

Lastly, I recommend paying your invoice online. And ideally before the start of the session ๐Ÿ˜‰ Paying online eliminates the need to physically come in contact with each other to exchange cash or a check.
