Maternity Pictures At Stanford University

Maternity Pictures At Stanford University | The Difference Between 30 and 60 Minute Sessions

I LOVE shooting maternity pictures at Stanford University! It is one of the premier Universities in the world and the campus is just BEAUTIFUL. It has a very different look than a typical park or a beach. And a lot of couples love the types of images we can capture at Stanford. Here are some of the images we captured from Vimarsh’s session. As well as the main differences between a 30 and 60 minute maternity portrait session.

You Will Not Have Enough Time To Change Outfits With A 30 Minute Session

One of the main differences between a 30 and 60 minute session is the ability to change outfits. If you just have one outfit planned, a 30 minute session may be exactly what you are looking for 😉 However, if you would like to change outfits, I recommend a 60 minute session.

Whenever possible, make sure to mention whether or not you plan to change outfits with your Photographer. Depending on the location, there may or may not be restrooms to change in. And of course, changing in the car is an option to also consider. When I shoot sessions where couples plan on changing, I will usually shoot portraits for 20 minutes, take a break to change, and then resume the rest of the session.

30 Minute Sessions Are Good For Couples Without Children

One scenario where 30 minutes may be enough time is if you and your partner do not have children. Since the poses would be just of the two of you, we will not need as much time.

If you plan on including children in the session, I recommend bringing along someone to help out. This can be a friend or a family member. And they can help keep the kids entertained while they are not in some of the pictures. Bringing someone along for the session also really comes in handy for smaller children. I will typically have them standing right over my should to help get kids looking in the direction of the camera 🙂

You Will Receive Less Images With A 30 Minute Session

One of the other main difference between 30 and 60 minute sessions is the amount of images you will receive. It will typically be about half the amount of images. But the great thing is that I take a lot of pictures 🙂 I guarantee at least 25 images for 30 minute sessions and 50 images for 60 minute sessions. But often times I actually deliver at least double this amount.

Hopefully Vimarsh’s maternity pictures at Stanford University gave you a little glimpse of the types of images I like to capture. If you are expecting an addition to your family, I would love to connect with you. The best way to reach me is through a quick email or through the contact form on my website. Thanks!
