Wedding Portraits In San Francisco

Kristin & John’s Wedding Portraits In San Francisco

Covid-19 has impacted pretty much every aspect of our everyday lives. The Photography industry has been one of the professions that have had to make major adjustments. One of the most noticeable adjustments to the wedding photography industry and working with couples is having a private ceremony and then taking wedding portraits afterwards. Here are some of the images from Kristin & John’s wedding portraits in San Francisco. As well as three great locations to consider when take wedding portraits in San Francisco 🙂

Sutro Baths

One of my favorite locations for wedding portraits in San Francisco is Sutro Baths. It has a lot of historical significance and is just BEAUTIFUL for wedding portraits. One of the things to consider when taking portraits at Sutro Baths is the lighting. Generally speaking, the best time to take outdoor portraits is in the evening or in the EARLY morning. At this time, the lighting is soft and flattering and great for portraits. Outside of this, the next best option is a cloudy/overcast day. The clouds soften up the harsh sunlight and make for excellent lighting. And this is the exact lighting for Kristin & John’s wedding portraits!

Fort Point

Another great location to consider for wedding portraits in San Francisco is Fort Point. I LOVE the red bricks, the hallways, and the view of the Golden Gate Bridge that this location has to offer. One thing to consider is that it is EXTREMELY windy! When we were taking portraits, the wind was stronger than any other location I have been to in San Francisco. Depending on the direction the wind is blowing, it could create a model-like hair blowing in the wind kind of affect 🙂

Palace of Fine Arts

One of the most popular places to take photographs in San Francisco is the Palace of Fine Arts. It has really nice architecture – which makes for great wedding portraits 🙂 One thing to consider is that it is one of the busier locations in San Francisco. Parking can be difficult to come by and there are a lot of people walking around throughout the day. Overall, it is a great place to take portraits!

If you are planning on taking your own wedding portraits in San Francisco, I would consider taking them at one of these three locations 🙂 Thanks!
