Perhaps the reason I like to schedule family portraits at Shoreline Lake Park is that it photographs well at most times of the day. The best time to take outdoor portraits is definitely in the EARLY morning or in the evening. But Shoreline Lake Park has good lighting at other times of the day due to the abundance of shade. Shade creates soft and flattering lighting for portraits and is much better than harsh sunlight. When you are considering where to take family portraits in Mountain View, you’ll definitely want to make sure there is shade at whatever location you choose 😉

There Are A Lot of Different Backgrounds

Another thing I really like about Shoreline Lake Park is that there are a lot of different backgrounds for pictures. There is the Rengstorf House, a really nice bridge, plenty of grass and flowers, and a lake. Having a bunch of different backgrounds to take pictures adds variety to your final images. And it also keeps smaller children engaged. Most kids cannot stay in one location for too long and so being able to move from one spot to another keeps them happy 😉

But No Pets Are Allowed

Last but not least, if you are brainstorming where to take family portraits in Mountain View, keep in mind that not all locations allow pets. While Shoreline Lake Park is a really nice location, it does not allow pets.
