Same Day Business Headshots

3 Tips on Booking Same Day Business Headshots

If you are a business person, you know the importance of having a professional headshot 🙂 Your headshot not only gives off a good first impression, but there are many different uses for your headshot. For example, your email signature. But sometimes you need a new headshot right away! If this is the case, here are a few tips on how scheduling same day business headshots!

Schedule The Session Early In The Day

If you are looking to take same day business headshots, I recommend scheduling the session as early in the day as possible. At the beginning of the day, your hair, makeup, and outfit will be fresh. And you can probably go straight to work afterwards. If your workday is typically busy, this will also ensure that no unplanned appointments come up that may rearrange your schedule.

But scheduling your same day business headshots in the morning will also benefit your Photographer. Since it is early in the morning, there is a better chance that they will have more time to edit the images right away. Depending on the amount of edited images you will be receiving, it takes around 2 hours to shoot the headshots, edit them, and then have them uploaded.

Take The Headshots Indoors or At A Studio

Another recommendation is to take the headshot indoors and at a studio. There are many differences between indoor and outdoor headshots. But taking the headshots indoors will simplify the entire process. Since the headshots are indoors, the lighting will be consistent and this will make it easy and quick for your Photographer to edit the headshots.

Communicate All of The Requirements to Your Photographer Beforehand

Last but not least, make sure that your Photographer is aware of all of the specifics. Most companies want all of their headshots to be the same and so knowing all of the specifics is important. For example, the color of the background, the way the image is cropped, or the direction you will need to be facing. The last thing that you will want is to take the headshot and then have it not meet the specifications. Make sure to double check all of the requirements. And if there are not many instructions given, I recommend taking a look at what other colleagues have used 😉 Keep in mind that most Photographers will be able to match different backgrounds by extracting you from the original background.

PRO TIP: Make sure to keep an updated headshot – so that you always have one that can be used!
